On
renaming the
MWTC Scholarship
to the
Nell Baugh International Scholarship Award
Nell
Baugh - where do I start? She is the heart and soul of this
club. She is the backbone and the glue that holds it together.
Just as you are listening to me now, I had heard other presidents
talk about how valuable Nell was. But, I didn't realize
the extent until I was in this position. She has constantly
been at my side offering her knowledge, assistance, and
experience.
I have truly grown to love this woman out of respect and
admiration. She works harder than most people I know and
all out of love for this club and you the membership. She
is retired and doesn't have to do this, but she wants to,
and loves it.
Nell has been involved in the international business since
the early 60's. She has almost 40 years in the business
and is going strong even after retirement. 1973 was her
first year as a member of the Memphis World Trade Club.
She has been an active member for 26 years.
As we end the 1990s and enter a new era, the board wanted
to bestow upon Nell an honor that would carry her name,
legacy, efforts, and loyalty into the new millennium.
We
have decided to name our newly formed scholarship fund after
her. The award will be called the Nell Baugh International
Scholarship Award in her honor. It is a fitting tribute
to our most dedicated and enduring member of this club.

join me in showing our appreciation to our only 26-year
member. Congratulations, Nell.
